Thanks benny for putting up info on MEALS IN WHEELS on this web site. on the OFFICIAL web site OF THE NALC,(www.nalc.org) PRES YOUNG came up with a response to Potters statement that he gave congress bout 5 day work weeks. Young does not think that congress will pass that rule or law . He thinks that they will come up with some other solution and that the 5 day work week is only the last solution. and lastly try to spred the word bout this web site to carriers , i think that the more carriers know , the better the web site will be.
First of all to whom ever has put this website together, id like thank you. It will be nice to be able to have a web site for us carriers that is local to either vent our frustrations when we need to let off a little steam bout mgmt or just important info that carriers have to spread the word bout whats happening at their station. If i may i would like to say that i am still looking for carriers that would like to join ouR MEALS ON WHEELS team that we have at Balcones station. We deliver meals twice a week tues and thurs, and we now have 14 employees on the team. If you have been thinking of volunteering for MOW let me know, it only takes bout an hour and you probably only will be asked to help out once evry 6 weeks. You can call me at 512-585-9144
2-3-2009 Message from Jim Buchanan Looks good so far Bennie, are you planning on posting our local Bylaws and Local memorandum of understanding later on?
Would also like to think about posting letter carriers special talents like the "Rabbits Repair Shop" Bill Potts has his own Air Conditioning Business, etc. and would like to keep our members notified of individual carriers that provide services that we all can utilize from within our Branch members.
If the New Executive Board have no objections I would like to add a link to Arslan Uniforms that the Branch approved some years back as the only authorized Union Vendor for Branch 181.
I know that the APWU has a link on their local Web site to promote a local Austin Doctor and would like to consider the same type of approval from our Branch for Union Treatment Center Services sometime in the future. This is the main reason I am trying to get the CEO for UTC to meet with Region 10 reps and Mickey Morris at our Spring Training school to make sure their are no conflicts of interest as Emre has claimed cannot be done from her personal version of legal reasons.
